The pictures from June 8, 2002 We had found some old carpet in the
south leg of the power line easement the last time we were out. We
arrived at 5:45 am and found that the carpet had taken root over the
years! It took both of us to literally pry it loose. We also loaded up a
couple of old tires. The carpet and shingles were the home to thousands
of ants - oh what fun!

|
The fire ring after the cleanup. We even found two
pennies under all the shingles!

|

|
Cindy loading the shingles from one of three dump
sites. Cindy’s thoughts while she was working, “Bend, Lift, Toss,
ouch %$%&$ ants, repeat”
|
|

|
Two thirds of the way there. The piles looked a lot
smaller when they were scattered on the ground.

|
Just a few small pieces left to load and we get to
head to the landfill. It’s sad that the landfill is only a few miles
away and costs $7 per load!

Almost a load. Cindy loaded ALL of the
shingles by her self!!! Now it’s off to the landfill to UNLOAD them
all by hand.
