The line clearing is going well. We had the surveyor out to put points on line. We are now able to drive to the north-east corner!!! It's still a little rough, but we can do the final smoothing with our tractor and the pasture chopper.

County_ditch_on_the_S_line.JPG (1388579 bytes) The south line looking from the power line toward the driveway. They cleaned out the county ditch.
S_line.JPG (1404580 bytes) The south line looking west from near the east corner. Our neighbor has done some clearing of their own and apparently buried it under the piles of dirt. This is the area that was solid palmettos which took us three days to hack through by hand.
Grapefruit_tree.JPG (1668826 bytes) The tree Cindy is holding is a Grapefruit tree along the east line. The fruit is delicious and pretty much out of reach. The tree stands about 40 foot tall. There are also various orange trees, most of which are sour.
E_line.JPG (1669792 bytes) A view of the East line. Isn't the canopy beautiful?
Large_tree_on_the_E_line_2.JPG (1548031 bytes) This old oak is straddling the line. We will be putting our fence around it, as it would be shame to injure it.
Large_tree_on_the_E_line.JPG (1523558 bytes) It's big. Gary's finger tip to finger tip is about 6 ft.
Cindy_the_tree_hugger.JPG (1447154 bytes) I love you old tree!!! (Guess I'm a tree hugger at heart)
The_old_fence.JPG (1372581 bytes) The old fence from days gone by.
E_line_2.JPG (1434306 bytes) This area is a little tight for a vehicle to get through without damaging the roots. We will have to open it up.
E_line_looking_S_from_the_pond.JPG (1484480 bytes) The east line looking south from the pond. Twenty years ago the neighbor dug a pond, and a small piece is on our land. There is no other natural source of water in this corner, so the pond is nice.
NE_corner.JPG (1440514 bytes) Looking at the north-east corner.
N_Line_lfrom_NE_corner.JPG (1416845 bytes) The north line, looking west from the north-east corner. It's clear all the way to the trail.
