The rip-rap is started on the North West side of the trail crossing. |
Here Steve is digging out for the South East side. It is much
easer that using a shovel with all of the pine tree and palmetto roots. |
Here is the crew. Cindy was helping to move the bags of
ready-mix concrete so it would go faster. All I had to do was keep
hauling it and help unload it. |
After the Rip-rap was in I had them dig a trench for us to put the
pipe in for the barn electric, water, and compressed air. |
We had thought about doing it ourselves with a tow behind backhoe.
I am very glad we had Steve out for the work as there were two large
stumps that were in the way. |
Here is half of one of the stumps. |
There was about 220' of trenching down just over 30" deep. This one
goes to the propane dispenser. |
We were at one time thinking about digging it all out with a shovel.
We made the right choice by not doing it ourselves. |
